Our project will provide significant economic and social benefits, creating opportunities for the local community while contributing to Nova Scotia’s broader prosperity.
Benefits for Local Communities:
- 💰 Economic Contributions:
- Municipal tax revenues of $1.2 million annually
- Landowner royalties of approximately $450,000
- 🌱 Community Benefit Fund:
- Annual allocation of $1,000 per MW (~$150,000) directed toward local projects and initiatives through a community-managed committee. These annual contributions are designed to support community based projects, economic development, land stewardship, recreational facilities and other community priorities.
- Maryvale School Fund:
- Provides ten thousand ($10,000) annually to fund programs or projects for the H.M MacDonald School and its students with priority given to underrepresented students or groups to achieve increased accessibility.
- Training & Education Bursary:
- Provides five (5) $5,000 bursaries for residents of the Municipality would like to enter training or education programs that would be applied to the construction or operation of a wind energy facility.
- Canadian Association of Community Living (CACL) Capacity Building Plan:
- RES is committed to working with the local CACL to development a Capacity Building Plan aimed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of individuals with disabilities, enabling them to participate effectively in the wind energy project while simultaneously developing the project's capacity to support and integrate individuals from the local community.

- Construction, operations, and support jobs during and after project development.
- Contract opportunities for local businesses and service providers
